The Truth About: Acupuncture

We're going to cover this topic because the body of Christ must know it's origin and roots and isn't deceived. That being said, I'd prefer not to be stabbed in the back over this article. I did chuckle at that joke because a dad joke and I am the king of dad jokes, but let's get serious, shall we? Acupuncture is deeply rooted in non-Christian religious beliefs.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine. It is used as a treatment for various bodily and spiritual treatments involving the use of needles, burning chemicals, applying pressure, electric, magnets, and cupping; there is a list of other types of acupuncture but that should be sufficient. The most common form of acupuncture is inserting a needle into a person in certain areas of the body to allow the body's qi (chee) to flow properly. It is believed to be effective in pain relief and a wide range of other ailments.

The Origin of Acupuncture

It is believed that acupuncture originated in blood rituals, magic tattoos, and some body piercings dating as far back as the beginning of mankind. It is referenced in almost every ancient culture including Native Americans. From a biblical point of view that is approximately 6000+ years ago. I know this is hard for some to fathom, even some Christians, but we believe that the Bible is 100% accurate in its accounting of the creation of the world.

Evidence of acupuncture dating back to nearly the beginning of human history is seen and speculated due to the discovery of the Tyrolean iceman discovered in the Otztal Alps in Italy. Upon investigating this mummified man they discovered he was about 42 years old and that he suffered from lumbar thrombosis. On this iceman's back, they found a set of tattoos in a cross shape located where modern acupuncturists still treat such a medical condition. As well as the plus-shaped tattoos on his back he was covered in tattoos on his arms, hands, and legs as well, each one corresponding to a modern acupuncture site.

Understanding Why This We Don't Partake in Acupunctures as Christians

As stated before, acupuncture is directly tied into teachings about qi and life force that derives from Chinese religious practices and beliefs. The most notable of these beliefs is yin and yang. This theology states that all things are inextricably intertwined. They believe that everything has a balance of good and evil. One of the primary beliefs of yin and yang is that there is a little bit of good in all evil and a little evil in all good.

We know that this is a false statement because God has no evil in him at all. "And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him, there is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin." John 1:5-7.

This scripture not only tells us that God has no darkness in him, but it also indicates to us that Jesus had no darkness in him as well. If God had any hint of sin or darkness in him then his blood would not have been able to cleanse us and we would be steeped in sin still. However, since there is no darkness in him then there is cleansing power in the blood of Jesus.

How Are Yin and Yang Tied Into Acupuncture?

Yin and Yang are believed to be direct manifestations of the life force or QI that runs through a human body. Acupuncturists believe that by freeing or loosing blockages in your body that prevent your chi from flowing properly helps to balance said life force and alleviate medical conditions.

This practice is a flesh manipulation of what is believed to be a spiritual condition manifesting in a physical form. This is one of the workings of the flesh as defined by Paul in letters to the Galatians verse 5:19. If all the other stuff didn't identify that this shouldn't be practiced by Christians, then this should be the nail in the coffin. Yin and Yang and acupuncture is covert witchcraft that has infiltrated the body of Christ due to a lack of knowledge and understanding.

What Can We Do As Christians?

That's a great question and it needs to be covered because it is not enough to tell you why not to do it, but you also need an explanation of what you can do. The number one thing that you can do is be a Christian and accept Jesus as your savior and as your healer.

Next: I would recommend that you repent of having anything to do with this as a Christian and stop doing it. It is key to remember that the definition of repentance is not just saying you are sorry. Repentance is turning away from the sin you were in and not returning to it as a result of encountering God. True repentance can't occur unless you have a God encounter that convicts you of sin and spurs you into holiness. Paul says, "Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death." 2 Corinthians 7:10.

It's not enough to just say you are sorry because you know you did something wrong. True repentance causes you not even desire that sin anymore. You have to be convicted in your heart that you are sorry. " See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter." 2 Corinthians 7:11.

This next statement will be controversial to some of you, yet may inspire a hearty Amen in others. It is never God's will for you to be sick. Many will cite scriptures from Deuteronomy stating that sickness is God's will if you sin. However, that is incorrect. God's will is to bless us, prosper us, and for us to be completely healed. If it was God's will for us to be sick then Jesus would have been in sin for healing ALL that came to him that were sick. God says we are under a curse if we turn from him and worship other gods and are disobedient to HIM. As Christians, we are mindful not to worship anything other than God. Listen to what Jesus did for sinners that weren't yet cleansed by his blood, " When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill. " Sorry folks, sin doesn't prevent healing either.

You need to have compassion for someone, including yourself when you are praying the sick. If you are blaming or accusing them of something (even if it's just in your head) then you are out of compassion and into sin. Jesus healed multitudes as a result of having compassion for them, "And having gone out, He saw a great crowd and was moved with compassion toward them, and He healed their sick." Far too often people are lined up the altar waiting for healing and someone says, 'Is all the sin out of your life?" "Do you have enough faith?" "If it's God's will." You will not pray for me if you are saying these things and I need healing. It's time to stop blaming the person and start putting it on Satan where it belongs.

What you need to take note of is that healing comes with deliverance. They Go hand in hand. In almost every verse where it speaks of Jesus healing the multitude, it also mentions that he cast out demons from people as well. Sickness is the enemy of God, and the Enemy of God enforces sickness whereas Jesus enforces healing. "When the sun went down, everyone who had anyone sick with some ailment or other brought them to him. One by one he placed his hands on them and healed them. Demons left in droves, screaming, “Son of God! You’re the Son of God!” But he shut them up, refusing to let them speak because they knew too much, knew him to be the Messiah." Matthew 8:16.

The church is so afraid of offending someone by saying that sickness is a devil that they just pray for a person to be healed and don't deliver them from the sickness. How about rather than calling it a devil, we just call it the enemy of God. Sickness is the embryonic stage of death. If even a common cold were able to weaken an immune system too much or attack a person with an already weakened immune system is could steal what health they had and kill that person destroying their life and the life of those around them.

Stealing, killing, and destroying are the calling cards of the devil. "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly." If something is attacking you and preventing you from having life in abundance then it is from the enemy of God and not from Jesus. Turning to witchcraft will not help you. It will only cause you to become iller in a more severe manner and will allow the enemy to torment you in different ways.
