Scriptures to Pray to Experience God's Love - Part 2

Did you know love is mentioned in the Bible over 700 times? It not only mentions the love we have for God, but also how much He loves us, how we are to love others, what happens when we love God, and so much more. We pray these scriptures help you experience the love of God!

1 Corinthians 13:4 (AMP)

Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant.

1 Corinthians 13:7 (AMP)

Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].

1 Corinthians 13:8 (AMP)

Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away.

1 Corinthians 13:13 (AMP)

And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love.

1 John 4:17 (AMP)

In this [union and fellowship with Him], love is completed and perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him]; because as He is, so are we in this world.

1 John 4:18 (AMP)

There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love].

Praise and Declarations of God’s Love

Psalm 5:7 (AMP)

But as for me, I will enter Your house through the abundance of Your steadfast love and tender mercy; at Your holy temple I will bow [obediently] in reverence for You.

Psalm 5:11 (AMP)

But let all who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice, let them ever sing for joy; because You cover and shelter them, let those who love Your name be joyful and exult in You.

Psalm 23:6 (AMP)

Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the Lord.

Psalm 31:7 (AMP)

I will rejoice and be glad in Your steadfast love, because You have seen my affliction; You have taken note of my life’s distresses...

Psalm 116:1-2 (AMP)

I love the Lord, because He hears [and continues to hear] my voice and my supplications (my pleas, my cries, my specific needs). Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call on Him as long as I live.

Isaiah 38:17 (AMP)

“Indeed, it was for my own well-being that I had such bitterness; but You have loved back my life from the pit of nothingness (destruction), for You have cast all my sins behind Your back."

2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP)

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].

Correcting Out of Love

Psalm 103:13 (AMP)

Just as a father loves his children, so the Lord loves those who fear and worship Him [with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence].

For those whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

Proverbs 9:8 (AMP)

Do not correct a scoffer [who foolishly ridicules and takes no responsibility for his error] or he will hate you; correct a wise man [who learns from his error], and he will love you.

Proverbs 10:12 (AMP)

Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers and overwhelms all transgressions [forgiving and overlooking another’s faults].

Hebrews 12:6 (AMP)

"For the Lord disciplines and corrects those whom He loves, and He punishes every son whom He receives and welcomes [to His heart].”

Revelation 3:19 (AMP)

Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I rebuke and discipline [showing them their faults and instructing them]; so be enthusiastic and repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will].

Zechariah 8:17 (AMP)

"And let none of you devise or even imagine evil in your heart against another, and do not love lying or half-truths; for all these things I hate,’ declares the Lord.
